We are all aware of the unfolding situation regarding Coronavirus and how quickly things are changing. Saxons Petanque takes the health and wellbeing of its members seriously and what we know so far is• The virus is likely to last many months, possibly through to late summer.• The Government is moving to its 'delay' phase and is likely to introduce measures over the coming weeks and months to try to delay the spread of the virus and reduce the epidemic's peak.At this stage we hope to have our normal sessions this week, 16th-21st March, then postpone all petanque sessions until further notice. This follows the advice from Petanque England and Public Health England. What we ask you to do now is:• If you or your family have any Coronavirus symptoms, please do not attend the club.• If you are in one of the 'vulnerable' groups identified by the government we suggest that you do not attend the club until government advice has been updated.• When you are at the club, please follow the recommended hygiene measures and wash your hands correctly and regularly. Use tissues to catch sneezes and dispose of them responsibly. Try to stay at an appropriate distance from other members etc. All the measures recommended by the relevant authorities. Shaking hands is not recommended. Only handle your own Boules.• If you develop symptoms of Coronavirus after visiting the club, please notify us with details of when you were there as soon as possible.
